Let us bring you an Albariño that, by concept, many would catalogue as transgressive, but which Alberto Nanclares & Silvia Prieto consider to be nothing else than a white wine crafted traditionally. Why a skin contact Albariño? Because the plot kinda dictated that it was possible to give it a go as the clone planted in the vineyard is an old one that gives tighter and goldener bunches.
The wine was foot trodden and 100% of the stems were kept during the fermentation, which happened in a 500L barrel from 2008. After 21 days it was separated from the skins and it remained resting in the barrel for 11 months (during the first 3 they do bâtonnage).
The intensity of its nose contrasts entirely with its ethereal personality in the mouth. Depth aromatics that reminds us of green chillies, curry leaves, dry stone fruits, cheese rind, and seaweed. When your mouthfeel is ready to expect a weighty wine what it truly encounters is the freshness of a sea breeze. This wine is loaded with an iodine imprint, vivace dynamism, and a refreshing backbone.
